If you suck at art, leave it to your artist friends. Or so I am being told, hehe!

I know I have mentioned her before in another post on this blog, but since she keeps bugging me, I will mention my friend Susan Bird again.

She keeps telling me how important a decent logo for this blog is and I keep telling her I am quite happy with the one I got. I know it is nothing fancy, but who cares? It is my personal blog after all.

To appease her wishes, I started working on my own logo design using Microsoft Paint. I must have spent the better half of a day working on it before I showed it to her. She not only mocked my color theme but also insisted it looked HORRIBLE and that she would be embarrassed to call me a friend if I were to actually use it on this blog.

Was it really that bad? I didn’t think so, but what do I know?!

Long story short, Susan ended up playing around with Photoshop for 5 minutes and came up with a fairly decent design for me. I still don’t know if I want to add it to this blog simply because I don’t mind the default logo that the theme came with.

The lesson I learned from all this hassle is this: If you are not artistically inclined, have your artistic friends do the artsy stuff for you. Be it logo designing, ebook cover designing, or anything else graphic related, don’t waste your precious time on it unless you know what you are doing. I personally could have saved myself at least 10 hours if I had just outsourced it to Susan to begin with.

Lastly, I have learned to ignore my artsy friends on matters I find irrelevant. I am of course talking about the logo on this site. Who cares if it doesn’t look like the president’s site? I don’t, and if anyone does, it really isn’t my problem. Or is it? 😀
